Brown men & red sand: journeyings in wild Australia by Charles P. Mountford. Published by Sun Books, 1967.
An overview of the Australian graphic design industry between 1960 and 1990.
This period was selected because of its definitive role in the evolution of Australian graphic design as a professional discipline.
A selection of significant projects undertaken throughout the period will provide an opportunity to explore and reveal the processes, collaborations and innovations inherent in the profession’s defining work.
Documenting and distributing the findings in both digital and printed forms will create an ongoing resource for educational, historical and scholarly analysis for teachers, students, researchers and designers.
