Developing a self administered ear stimulation device for home-based management of chronic pain.

Persistent pain is an increasingly problematic area of healthcare, costing billions of dollars annually. It has been found that irrigating cold or warm water or air into the external ear canal can provide temporary pain relief to paraplegics and patients following a stroke.

This research aims to design and develop a simple, inexpensive device that can be used at home for self-administration of vestibular caloric stimulation.
