I’ve used a self-referent approach to disrupt and engage with space. Playing with illusion and imitation, A Ton of Lead invites the viewer to question their position within an interactive, site specific work. Drawing inspiration from Magritte’s This is Not a Pipe and Kosuth’s One and Three Chairs, I aim to toe the fragmented line which divides representation from real, and turn the medium in on itself. Less about photographic content and more occupied with the art object itself, my third year practice has become increasingly sculptural, conceptual and, ultimately, playful.
