The Theatricalities of Shadows is a series of themed jewellery works depicting action scenes from popular culture, chosen for their universal appeal. The theatrical use of shadows is explored reminiscent of shadow puppetry, wonder and cinema. The humorous pieces can be worn on various parts of the body, inviting the wearer to animate the scenes. It combines theatre, a miniaturisation of scale as well as pop up figures from single base plates to comment on the playfulness associated with shadows. Strong light amplifies shadows altering reality, creating soft and crisp edges, bringing the pieces to life in a toy-like manner.
